Medals and ribbons guide

Sizes, finishes, logo centres and ribbon colours, plus how to order the right number for your event.

Why medals work

Medals are the most affordable way to give every player or competitor something to take home. They suit carnivals, tournaments, grand finals and participation awards, and they pair well with a few trophies for the major awards.

Gold, silver and bronze

Most medals are sold in gold, silver and bronze finishes, ready for first, second and third place. Many designs also come in a range of metal colours and finishes, so you can choose a style that suits your sport or event.

Sizes

Medals are commonly available in sizes from around 50mm up to 70mm. Smaller medals suit juniors and larger events with many placings, while larger medals suit finals and top awards. Product sizes are listed in our catalogues.

Logo centres

Many medals have a centre that can hold your club, school or event logo, printed in full colour. It is a simple way to make a standard medal feel like your own. Send us a clear, high resolution logo, with vector files preferred.

Ribbons

Ribbons come in a wide range of colours and two tone combinations, so you can match your club, school or house colours. Browse the ribbons and rosettes range for options.

How many to order

  • Count the placings you want to recognise, such as first to third in every event or grade.
  • Add a few spare medals for ties, late entries and changes.
  • If every player in a team gets a medal, order the team size plus spares.

Presenting and displaying medals

For special awards, medal boxes and display cases give a medal a more formal presentation, and make a nice keepsake for the recipient.
